Common Veterinary Uses

Veterinarians may prescribe pimobendan for dogs with certain cardiac conditions, including:

• Congestive heart failure (CHF)
• Myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD)
• Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM)
• Other conditions in which increased cardiac contractility and vasodilation may be beneficial

Pimobendan acts as an inodilator, helping increase the strength of cardiac contractions while also promoting vasodilation, which can reduce the workload on the heart.
