What Is Budesonide Oral Slurry?
Budesonide is a corticosteroid with potent local anti-inflammatory activity.
A swallowed budesonide preparation has been used in the management of eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) and other conditions when determined appropriate by a healthcare provider.
The slurry formulation is designed to allow the medication to coat the esophagus as it is swallowed.
Your healthcare provider will determine the appropriate dose, frequency, and duration of therapy.
Important Information
Budesonide is a corticosteroid. Tell your healthcare provider about your medical conditions, infections, allergies, and all medications and supplements you take.
Swallowed corticosteroids may increase the risk of oral or esophageal candidiasis (thrush). Contact your healthcare provider if you develop symptoms such as mouth or throat discomfort or white patches.
Long-term or higher corticosteroid exposure can potentially cause systemic corticosteroid effects. Use only as directed by your healthcare provider.
Keep out of reach of children.
