What Is Anastrozole?

Anastrozole belongs to a class of medications known as aromatase inhibitors. It inhibits the aromatase enzyme, thereby reducing the conversion of androgens into estrogens.

Anastrozole has FDA-approved indications for certain types of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women. Healthcare providers may also prescribe medications for other uses when medically appropriate.

The appropriate dose, frequency, and duration of treatment should be determined by your healthcare provider.

Important Information

Tell your healthcare provider and pharmacist about your medical conditions, allergies, and all prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and supplements you take.

Anastrozole can cause side effects and requires appropriate medical supervision.

Anastrozole can cause fetal harm and should not be used during pregnancy unless specifically directed by an appropriate healthcare professional.

Keep out of reach of children.
