What Is Clomiphene?

Clomiphene is a selective estrogen receptor modulator. By modifying estrogen feedback at the hypothalamus and pituitary, it can increase the release of hormones involved in reproductive function.

Clomiphene has established use for ovulatory dysfunction in appropriately selected women. Healthcare providers may also prescribe clomiphene for other uses when medically appropriate.

Your healthcare provider will determine whether clomiphene is appropriate for you and prescribe the appropriate strength, dose, frequency, and duration of treatment.

Important Information

Tell your healthcare provider about your medical conditions, allergies, and all medications and supplements you take.

Clomiphene can cause adverse effects including hot flashes, headache, nausea, breast discomfort, and visual disturbances. Contact your healthcare provider promptly if you experience changes in vision.

Clomiphene should only be used under the supervision of a healthcare provider familiar with your medical history and treatment goals.
